WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Western Australia is incredibly vast and diverse; as the largest state, it covers nearly one-third of the country. The capital city of Perth is home to a vibrant beach, food and drink scene. But once you step outside the city, you might just find yourself on a white-sand beach with only kangaroos or quokkas for company, or face-to-face with the colourful (and sometimes giant, when it comes to the gentle whale shark) residents of the underwater world. From baffling rock formations and ancient Aboriginal sites to sweeping green vineyards of world-class wineries and unbelievably clear ocean waters, Western Australia is the land of endless exploration.

The south west corner of Western Australia enjoys a Mediterranean climate with Perth having more days of sunshine than any other major Australian city. Not only is Perth one of the most liveable cities in the world – it’s also Australia’s most affordable.

NORTHERN TERRITORY

The Northern Territory is situated in the central and northern regions of Australia. It offers a dynamic and progressive environment, yet has a relaxed and friendly pace. You will find more than 100 nationalities who happily share their cultures in the Territory.  The economy is largely based on mining and petroleum. Darwin is the capital with other large cities – Palmerston, Alice Springs, Katherine, Nhulunbuy and Tennant Creek.  There are two distinct climates – Central Australia has a desert climate and the northern area has a tropical monsoonal climate.

The Northern Territory boasts some of the most incredible true wilderness areas of Australia, Arnhem Land, Kakadu, Uluru and much more.  Due to the small population in the NT and vast freight distances, prices of most goods can be higher.  Locally grown produce is often available in many areas.  Housing prices differ greatly across the NT as do housing styles.  Elevated houses with large outdoor living areas, verandas and swimming pools are common.
